Origination Noodle

Origination Noodle House has been a staple of the noodle scene for a few years now in downtown Toronto. This is their first foray into the Scarborough neighborhood, with a new restaurant located on Silver Star Boulevard, near the Milliken GO station. Origination Noodle House is somewhat special, as they specialize in making noodles from the Yunnan province of China, specifically a style called “Crossing-the-Bridge”. This type of noodle is different from what you would expect, as the ingredients are prepared separately from the soup base. Once the dish is ready to be served, the soup is cooked and the ingredients are added immediately toRead More →

Good Catch Lobster

If you’re looking for a great spot to catch some seafood and watch the game, look no more! Good Catch Boil House is a new Louisiana-inspired seafood restaurant and sports bar located in the heart of Markham conveniently located at 179 Enterprise Blvd. Traditionally, seafood boil restaurants only serve seafood boiled in plastic bags with the occasional dishes on the side such as fries, chicken wings and fried rice.  Good Catch Boil however does not only serve the traditional seafood boiled in plastic bags, but also includes a very refreshing twist to the menu. Spicy Mafia is the sister restaurant to popular hot pot chain Morals Village. Main difference? The basic combo comes included with the aforementioned items alongside included toppings, while ordering additional items cost extra (e.g. additional meat, seafood, soybean made dishes, etc.). Love Gelato is a cute little shop on Main St Markham serving quality gelato, sandwiches and desserts. We had the opportunity to meet the two owners, Daniel and Vlad, who were extremely welcoming and down to earth. They have two key values they uphold for Love Gelato, customer service and quality of product. The owners frequently travel to try alot of gelato as part of their goal to make their gelato the “best gelato you’ve ever tasted”. Love Gelato’s gelato is vegan, peanut free and gluten free, and everything in the shop is homemade except for the macarons which are sourced from a local bakery.Read More →

With so many noodle choices it’s easy to walk into a random restaurant and be disappointed. We just wish that we had a list of these ‘misses’ early on, which is whyRead More →
