As much as we love eating, we also love trying out different recipes at home and trying not to burn down the kitchen! We were excited to learn about Chef’s Plate, a Toronto based company that provides fresh, pre-portioned ingredients delivered straight to your door. Each week, 6 recipes are released and you can pick 2-3 meals depending on the plan you subscribe to. You’ll receive a box of fresh groceries portioned for the meals you’ve selected, and a detailed recipe card to follow. The ingredients stay fresh in the refrigerated delivery box up to 12 hours, and can be stored in the fridge for 4-5 days.
We decided to try it out and ordered the Fresh Herbed Salmon with roasted celeriac and corn, and Thai Mango Chicken with bell pepper, peanuts and jasmine rice. The recipes were easy to follow and were pretty much at the “medium” level that it claims to be – however I did have to Youtube how to cut celeriac as I’ve never seen one before!
It took me just slightly more time than indicated to prep and cook the food, but I’m sure I’ll get faster as I get more practice with more recipes. The food smelled absolutely amazing and everyone at home was impressed at how great it looked and tasted!
